Privacy policy

This policy states, in plain language, what Topos Astro Match collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to remove it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to compute your assessments, we never sell or share personal data, and deletion actually deletes.

01What we collect

• Your account identifier. An email address, used only for sign-in (one-time code) and purchase restoration.
• Your birth details. Date, time and place of birth, used to compute your chart. The resolved place is stored as a gazetteer id, never as free text.
• Counterpart birth details. The same fields for each person you assess, plus an optional name and a one-line context note you choose to write.
• Computed artefacts. The evidence packet, scored result and written dossier for each assessment, so you can reopen them without re-paying.
• Purchase records. App Store transaction identifiers, used to unlock and restore purchases. We never see your card details.
• Usage analytics. Anonymous product events (screens viewed, flows completed) via PostHog. No birth data is ever sent to analytics.

02What we never do

• We never sell, rent or trade personal data.
• We never build a directory, search index or social graph of assessed people.
• We never contact the counterpart. As far as the product is concerned, they do not know they were assessed.
• We never use birth details for advertising, and there is no advertising in the product.

03The counterpart’s data

The person you assess has not consented. Because of that, the product stores the minimum — birth details you entered and the computed artefacts — uses them only for your assessment, and exposes real deletion. If you delete a counterpart, their birth details, the evidence packet and the dossier are all removed. If a counterpart contacts us at privacy@toposmatch.com and can identify an assessment of themselves, we will delete it.

04Who processes the data

• Apple processes payment through the App Store under its own terms.
• RevenueCat manages purchase state and restoration, keyed by an anonymous app user id.
• Anthropic receives the computed evidence packet — numbers, factor ids and structure — to render the dossier’s prose. It does not receive your email or any free-text beyond the optional context note, and packets are not used to train models.
• PostHog receives anonymous usage events only.
• Our hosting provider stores the database and cache in the region stated in the app’s about screen.

05Retention and deletion

Assessments persist so your dossiers remain available — that permanence is part of what you bought. You can delete any counterpart, any assessment, or your whole account at any time from the app’s Position and data screen. Deletion removes the rows, the evidence packets and the dossiers from the primary store immediately and from backups within 30 days.

06Children

The product is rated 17+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 17, and a counterpart’s date of birth indicating a minor is rejected at entry.

07Your rights

Where GDPR, UK GDPR, PDPA (Singapore) or similar laws apply, you may request access, correction, export or deletion of your data. The export control in the app produces everything we hold about you in JSON. For anything further, write to privacy@toposmatch.com.

08Changes

If this policy changes, the change is posted here with a new effective date, and material changes are announced in the app before they take effect.
